Based on the award winning approach to treating couples in distress, this workshop offers you valuable information, experience and tools to create a lifetime of love.
Hold Me Tight Couples Workshop is based on the research and practices of Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT). Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop is an educational workshop designed to help you build your relationship, strengthen your connection so you feel important and valued. You will be creating a Lifetime of Love.
The Hold Me Tight® program for couples was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, award winning founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and author of the book “Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love”, and recently released “Love Sense”.
Couples Workshops provides opportunity for you to understand your relationship differently so you can increase the loving bond you long for, solve those nagging issues and reorganize the way you communicate, through private exercises with your partner. You will see video examples of other couples and how they learned to improve their communication and strengthen their relationship.
This workshop uses an approach that provides both information and experience specifically for couples.
Through this combination you get a positive framework to strengthen and even repair your relationship. You gain essential knowledge on problem solving and plenty of guided practice so you can use the skills you obtain at the workshop when you get home.
This workshop is perfect for couples who want to create a more intimate loving bond. It is for couples who are willing to invest the time and energy to change old patterns and draw upon new research that can dramatically improve communication and intimacy. It is for young and old, married or engaged.

The workshop gave us the chance to slow down, forget the mayhem of everyday life, and truly take the time to communicate with my spouse. We have targeted raw areas in our relationship in a way that will help facilitate continued emotional intimacy.Hold Me Tight Workshop participant
As a Licensed Counselor, I love to meet with individuals who are feeling stuck and want to overcome hurdles that seem to stand in the way of the life they long for. With gentle guidance and understanding together we can explore options and new ways of looking at the circumstances that brought you to this place in your life. Symptoms of depression, worry, stress, fear or hurt can keep us from enjoying life and relationships.
I love to meet face to face with couples. My heart is to help them repair and restore their bond and to help them make sense of their struggle. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. It is a therapy based on our need to be loved deeply and to experience close connections. In working together, you can learn to share in ways that allows your partner to finally hear what you are saying and draw them closer.
For couples who live out of the Spokane area, I offer a two day opportunity to explore and learn about your partner. I seek to create a safe warm environment in which you can share without fear. You will learn a powerful framework for communicating with clarity and honesty like you once did. You will have the opportunity to actually practice the skills you are learning with my gentle support. Together you will rediscover the love and sensitivity you once shared.
Coaching is for couples who are strong and secure in their commitment to each other and who are simply longing for a more intimate marriage. Coaching is done from the comfort and convenience of your home or office. We meet through Skype. I will guide you with readings and homework to accomplish on your own time. Homework is based on the book, “Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love” by Dr.Sue Johnson. We will usually Skype weekly for 8 to 10 or more weeks.
I put together the Hold Me Tight workshops as a way to reach more couples with the information they need to create a more secure and loving relationship. The concepts presented in the workshop are profound yet simple. The workshops are educational in nature, yet provide couples with the opportunity to practice new ways of relating. My desire is to see all couples experience the intimacy and love they were meant to experience.
In meeting face to face I am able to help individuals or couples slow down their interactions, thoughts and concerns and explore them. I believe our very well-being depends on the strength of our relationships and that often it is our perceptions that stand in the way of experiencing close and loving bonds with others. Counseling is simply that opportunity to sit with an experienced person, in a safe place, to explore your own thoughts.
I am a Christ follower. He has loved me and sacrificed much just to have an intimate relationship with me. I believe that He created me to long for a safe and secure bond with Him, with family and with others. My life work, the pull of my heart, is to successfully help others to find the love that He offers and to find it with others He has placed in their lives.
I know that life can be so hard at times and that hurts cut deep in our hearts. It can seem like it is better not to risk in love. I have found that no real contentment or joy exists without the genuine love of others.
